#MMN meetup: Women and Migration

The Migrant Media Network is hosting a meetup on the 24. November 2021 from 18-20hrs, CET that focuses on the experiences of African diaspora communities in Germany. 

This meetup will focus on women and migration, specifically on how to create safe spaces for migrant women. The meetup will take place at the r0g_agency office, Knobelsdorffstr.22, in Berlin-Charlottenburg. 

The event will feature talks by Jennifer Kamau, co-founder of International Women* Space and Isatou Barry, an activist fighting against the practice of Female Genital Mutilation.

Diaspora_Youth Leaders Stammtisch_LRR

Diaspora Mentor Seedy Saidykhna will introduce the #MMN initiative, together with the #MMN Lower River Region Local Coordinator Serrey Sanned, to youth leaders in order to sensitize the youths on difficulties and challenges on irregular migration, human trafficking smuggling and equally safe migration plans. He wants to increase awareness on the available skills and resources in the country which one can effectively make best use of without embarking on these deadlier journey.

The target group are youth leaders and returnees from the region.

Stammtisch In the Aworowa Community



On the 9th October, 2021, Emmanuel embark on an outreach with a congregation of women group in the Aworowa community-techiman Bono-East Region. The women group meets every Saturday morning at a usual place of a member residence to discuss about their various activities they undertake in the Aworowa community.  Emmanuel took them through #MMN , Migrantchoices 6 #Smartmigration most importantly shared with them the topics of planning before u pack, migration decisions and human trafficking. Highlighting the  consequences & risk involved in irregular migration.

A discussion and awareness raising on migration In the Traa community, The Local Coordinator Emmanuel facilitated a community outreach to evaluate the activities of #MMN and the impact it has brought to the Traa community in their time long meetings and Stammtisches organised for the community.

Stammtisch Migration Decision




The Stammtisch was on the Topic “Migration Decision” it was held on Tuesday 20th July 2021 at KOSSI’s Fashion centre  in the Anloga  district in the volta Region. The Stammtisch was organised to encourage the youths (young women and men) to take the Skills acquisition seriously and to be insightful of what they are learning. And to take SMART Decision concerning migration, while discouranging the irregular migration option. From the #defyhatenow’ field-guide topic (migration Decision) the participants were openly interactive with answers to question as most of them have some experiences about dangers/risks involved from narratives. James introduced the #MMN_ussd code and the THINK Carefully MOVE SAFELY GAME as well.
