SUMMARY:An Outreach on "Entreprenuership Opportunities"
DESCRIPTION:  \nAn Outreach took place at the office of the Business Advisory Council (BAC) and the Ghana Enterprise Agency (GEA). This was to inform them about #MMN and to see how together we could define a smart way to identify what alternative opportunities for skills acquisition and entrepreneurship are available for the youth and how the youth can benefit from the BAC/GEA offices. The BAC/GEA officer assured and also used documents to prove the plans put in place to support the youth in Ghana. The officer explained the plan for the A – E meaning Apprenticeship to Entrepreneurship of which some youth are beneficiaries. #MMN is already in collaboration with them to work for the wellbeing of the youth in their local communities.

DESCRIPTION:On the 2nd December 2021\, An Outreach was organized at Adidome Farm Institute to inform and educate the people about migration issues and discourage Irregular Migration and promote livelihood as a positive alternative to the constraints about jobs\, skills\, and against poverty among the youth. The Farm Institute trained the youth in Agribusiness and as our main reason\, we tried to work with the Senior Administrator to best support the youth in the communities. Senior officer and lecturer in the Institute said he and his colleagues are ready to work with #MMN. He said when the youth are ready\, they can even come and train\, mentor\, and support them in any other way.

DESCRIPTION:Community outreach was planned and organized with the women and girls at the Song-Ba Empowerment Centre which was facilitated by Madam Humiamatu(Director for National Vocational Institute) The meeting was attended by 29 participants in all. The outreach was very interactive with every question which was asked by the participants being answered. The ladies were very happy about the engagement and the fact that they could ask their questions and get them answered. \nWe engaged the women and girls on the topics PLANNING THE JOURNEY. We also made them know that\, is not that we don’t want them to migrate but it must be done in a safe way and through regular means. We also help them to plan their journey with the S.M.A.R.T goals for migration. \nWe also discuss how to measure the goals that will answer these questions: \n\nHow will I track my progress?\nHow much time do I need?\nHow much of a resource (time\, money\, energy) do I need?\nWhat are some mini-goals I can set along the way?

DESCRIPTION: \n \n  \nMigration among the youth in the Northern Region of Ghana continues to be a risk to the future workforce of the Region. It is important for youth to set goals from time to time\, everyone experiences difficulty getting started on the path to success. Each of us has a unique set of strengths that help us\, as well as challenges that hinder us on the way. Goal setting helps us separate our strengths from weaknesses and make realistic plans for improving our lives. Goal setting provides focus and context to a mentor pair. \nOn the 5th of November\, 2021. 30 participants from the University for Development Studies were engaged in a Stammtisch. The Stammtisch was made possible with a proper community entry which was done through the Student Representative Council. After our meeting with the Executives\, we met the youth participants where an introduction was made. (Rhoda Wedam) The Local Coordinator went further to introduce the MMN project to the participants. She highlighted the major activities of the project and its operational areas to give the participants more information about the MMN Project. The topic for discussion was on planning the journey specifically on helping the participants to define smart goals for migration.

DESCRIPTION: \n \n  \nOn the 5th of October\, 2021\, our second Stammtisch was held with young women of 4 training Centers in Tamale. The purpose of these young women is to address some of the social issues that motivate them to migrate. This Stammtisch was facilitated by Madam Humaimatu (Director at the National Vocational Institute) and Hajia Halimatu Sagito (Director of SWIDA Ghana). These facilitators are well-trained personalities who focus on training women in addressing social issues that affect their lives. Wedam Rhoda\, the local coordinator for the MMN project in Tamale gave the welcome address to the participants and encouraged them to actively participate in the Stammtisch so as to get themselves well informed about the social issues that are affecting the lives of women and motivate them to migrate. \n

SUMMARY:"Rural Urban Migration" A case of the Yendi Women
DESCRIPTION:  \n40 participants who are parents of young girls from 4 training Centers were organized for the first Stammtisch. The Stammtisch was organized at the Presby Lay training center\, located on the Yendi road about 5km from the barrier. The meeting was made possible with a proper community entry which was done with the help of the Assemblyman and the heads or owners of the various training Centers. \nRhoda Wedam The Local Coordinator at the meeting introduced the MMN project to the participants and also the facilitator of the day who was in the person of Hajia Alimatu. She also highlighted the major activities of the project and its operational areas to give the participants more information about the MMN Project. The topic for discussion was further introduced for discussion which was on issues that motivates their female children to migrate to urban areas and Europe which was facilitated by Hajia Alimatu Sagito

DESCRIPTION: \n  \n \n  \nOn the 24th day of September\, 2021\, the Migrant Media Network #MMN Volta  organised an outreach in collaboration with an NGO “Christ Love Children” from Oyibi – Accra. The NGO supports street children\, schools\, churches and communities. The NGO shared some bible and life lessons with the community and also shared educational materials to the Basic Schools and children in the community. As Child trafficking is rampant it the region\, the #MMN Team trained the children & parents in  mitigating  lies told by human traffickers and ways to verify misinformation and fake news this helped in educating  the communities and get them to understand the concept of irregular migration’s risks and dangers people may not be aware of.
